Hi,
I've just joined the site and it looks great. I was thrilled to find it! In reply to avantage's question, you might try checking for Gigot through Critics' Choice Video. Although I receive their catalogs frequently in the mail, I can't say with any certainty whether Gigot's available through them. They have a huge inventory, so it may be worth a shot. Also, I believe TCM has shown Gigot on occasion. If you go to their website, I think you can do a search on whether a film in which you're interested is going to be shown within the next month or so.
I can understand your desire to see Gigot. It's the Gleason film I currently most want to see. I've known about the movie for years but have seen only brief snippets of it in passing. I know now, though, that I want to see every second of it from start to finish! In the meantime, I'll stay on the lookout for you as to where a copy of the film might be obtained.

"Gigot" was released on VHS tape, but is now out of print. You may be able to find a used copy on eBay. The film has been shown at least once on Turner Classic Movies and will no doubt be shown again, so look for it there. You can go on the TCM.com website and suggest they show the movie again, here:

I bought a DVD recorder a couple of years ago and have been able to record many movies directly from TCM or from the DVR that are as good video and audio quality as commercial DVDs. TCM also shows the ENTIRE movie, uncut and uninterrupted, even including overtures, intermission breaks with music, and exit music from those 1950s extravaganza films. While you're at it, maybe suggest that TCM devote Jackie's birthday to a Gleason film festival, including "The Hustler," "Gigot," "Requiem for a Heavyweight," "Papa's Delicate Condition" and maybe the "Smoky & Bandits" films or "Nothing in Common."
